Born in 1973, Sukanta Das is an alumnus of Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts. His works, which have a surreal and dreamlike quality, often portray the grace and beauty of the feminine form. As an artist, he is primarily inspired by the human body and nature, and loves to use subtle hues and tones to portray their interdependence and symbiotic relationships. Sukanta Das won the National Scholarship in 1996. He lives and works in Kolkata.
